Connecting Jobber

Modified on Mon, 27 Apr at 8:59 PM

BookingItNow's Jobber integration is the most powerful option for field-service and trades businesses. When a customer buys a service, BookingItNow can create a request, job, or assessment directly in Jobber — automatically, with no manual data entry.

Before you start

  • You need an active Jobber account
  • You should have your work types or service items set up in Jobber

Connecting your account

  1. In BookingItNow, go to Connect
  2. Click Connect Jobber
  3. You'll be redirected to Jobber to authorize the connection
  4. Log in and click Allow access
  5. You'll return to BookingItNow — your Jobber account name will confirm the connection

Choosing a workflow mode

This is the most important decision for your Jobber setup. BookingItNow offers two modes:

Client Hub mode

Best for: Merchants who want customers to submit their own request details

  • When an order is fulfilled, BookingItNow emails your customer a link to your Jobber Client Hub
  • The customer fills in their request through Jobber's native client portal
  • You receive the request in Jobber as usual

Use this if you want customers to describe their own job requirements, upload photos, or fill in custom fields.

API-driven mode

Best for: Merchants who want fully automatic request creation with no customer action required

  • When an order is fulfilled, BookingItNow creates the request, job, or assessment directly in Jobber using the information from the Shopify order
  • The customer's name, email, phone, and service address are transferred automatically
  • A Jobber client is created or matched by email (no duplicates)
  • A property is created from the customer's Shopify shipping address
  • Your customer receives a "Request Received" confirmation email — no action needed from them
  • The email includes a link to your Jobber Client Hub so they can track their request status

Use this if you want zero customer effort after checkout and a fully automated handoff into Jobber.

To switch modes: Go to Settings → scroll to the Jobber section → select your preferred workflow mode → Save.

Setting up API-driven mode

After connecting Jobber and selecting API-driven mode:

  1. Go to Services
  2. Open a service and set the Jobber work type (Request, Job, or Assessment)
  3. Link the service to the matching Shopify product
  4. Optionally, go to Settings → Email Notifications and set a Customer next steps message — this appears in the confirmation email and on the Shopify thank you page

Passing the customer's address

Enable Pass customer address to Jobber in Settings to automatically attach the customer's Shopify shipping address as the service property in Jobber. If no shipping address is present, BookingItNow falls back to their billing address.

What the customer receives (API-driven)

  • An email confirming their request has been received
  • Your merchant-configured "what happens next" message
  • A "Track your request" button linking to your Jobber Client Hub (if configured)
  • A link to view their Shopify order

They also see a "What happens next" card natively on the Shopify thank you page and order status page.

Setting up your Jobber Client Hub link

In Jobber: Settings → Client Hub → copy your Client Hub URL.

In BookingItNow: Settings → Jobber → paste the URL in the Client Hub URL field → Save.

This enables the "Track your request" button in confirmation emails and the Client Hub action button in your activity digest.

Syncing Jobber services

Your Jobber work types sync as Services in BookingItNow. Go to Services → Sync services to refresh. Then link each service to its corresponding Shopify product.
